Galveston
We also spent a day getting out to Galveston. We had a nice Italian lunch at Mario's and walked on the beach a little. Fortunately the weather cooperated and the clouds were out while we were on the beach, so it was relatively cool. The breeze off the ocean helped too.
Kemah Borardwalk
While the Pereira family was here we got to visit a few place. Here is our adventure at the Kemah Boardwalk. We had lunch at the Aquarium and visited the boardwalk itself. This place was completely destroyed during the hurricane last year. It was nice to see everything rebuilt.

Photo Shoot
We've been spending some quiet days around the house this week with family. Yesterday we took some time while Julia was awake to play dress up and take some pictures. She wasn't very smily this afternoon, but we got a few nice pictures of her.

Family Visit Time
Pedro, Cassia, and the kids got here on Friday to visit for a few weeks. Their flight came in at 5:30 in the morning, so we took them to our favorite place to go when we arrive home from a long flight - IHOP. This also was Julia's first trip to a restaurant. Too bad she could not eat the blueberry pancakes. They're pretty good.

Julia's First Bath
On Thursday Julia had lots of fun, including her first bath at home, and a visit from more friends.

First Day Out-takes
Of course, we quickly learned the lesson that to get good pictures with children you have to shoot a lot of pictures (how did our parent's do it with 35mm film?) Here are some of the out takes of today's efforts.
She's going for the knockout blow on this guy since she couldn't eat him.
Tong out is one of her favorite poses.
I can't tell if she gave herself a back hand smack here, or she's getting ready to smack me.
The series below was taken as we tried to get a shot that we could use on a birth announcement. We ended up getting the shot, after about 50 takes.
The winning shot actually came right before this one.
