Alloween

Happy Halloween!  Raquel took the girls to the photo studio for Halloween.  The pictures turned out so well that she couldn't pick which ones to get, so she got them all on cd.

Emilia's First Month

We celebrated Emilia's first month with a fun little cake.
Emilia was trying to blow it out, but Julia just wanted to stare at the candle.
Eventually she got the idea and helped her sister out.

Daniel & Cinda Visit

Raquel's uncle and aunt Daniel and Cinda visited back in May. Somehow I lost track of the pics and just now found them and thought we should post one.

Photo Shoot

We tried to get some pictures yesterday for a potential birth announcement. Here are some of the best shots.

Emilia Comes Home

Emilia came home late on Monday the 12th.

No sooner did we put her in the car seat when she started to practice her whistle.
Now the sisters are together at home. Julia sure looks big next to her little sister.

Emilia's Visitors

Emilia had a few visitors in the hospital.

Our friend Steve from Austin happened to be in town for a conference so he was able to come by the hospital.
Tici (Julia's nanny) came by to visit as well.

Emilia Arrived

A week ago today our Emilia was born. Here are the vital statistics:

Emilia Pereira Hanson
September 10, 2011 (9/10/11 - pretty cool huh?)
3:27 PM
21 1/2" (54.6 centimeters)
9 lbs 10 ozs (4366 grams)

9 lbs 10 ozs on 9/10/11. The pediatrician said we needed to buy a lottery ticket.

She was a big baby. For those of you who don't believe the weight number, here is some visual proof.
Julia was pretty excited the next day when she got to come and visit her sister.
Too excited to sit in Daddy's lap for a picture . . .

Socks for the arms

As if her eyes weren't big enough

More Julia

Julia likes her hat.
She likes hanging out with Mamae as well.
She's learned to give the thumbs up sign.

2nd Birthday Party

The Saturday after Julia's birthday we had a party / baby shower for her sister, who is due to be born just a month after her birthday. It was an Elmo themed party (as if you can't tell from the pictures below.
We had some balloons left after making the arch, so Raquel had Steve and I create a balloon pit for the kids to play in. It was the best idea of the night. The kids had a great time. If you look closely, you can see Julia under the balloons.

Julia's Birthday

Our neighbors Steve and Vicki had us over for dinner on Julia's birthday.

Of course they made a cake for her and she had to blow out her candles.
After the candles went out she showed everyone how old she had become. She even danced a little with Steve after dinner and cake.

Lunch Out and some Water Play

We had a nice lunch out recently with our friends Martin and Ellen Haskett. They picked a spot with a water fountain close by so Julia could play in the water when we were done eating.

When we finished lunch, Ellen took Julia out to the fountain to play. At first she had to coax Julia into the water fountains to play.
Then she started to experiment.Pretty soon she was eager to get into the water. She wasn't too sure about the audience she attracted. The audience was enjoying watching her though..
