Washington DC

This last week Raquel went to Washington DC for a conference. The night she got there she toured the mall.

She tried to stop in and see George, but he was busy (probably sleeping - it was pretty late when she stopped by.)
The World War II memorial is great at night time. The pictures don't do it justice, but hopefully you will enjoy these.

Thanks Grandpa, and all others who served.

Althought she couldn't see George, Raquel did get to see another president, and even got a picture with him.

This brings back memories of our trip to Wa DC several years back when I was just a college kid. I have so many pictures of the different memorials and other points of interest in our nation's capitol. That was a fun trip! It was really hot when we went - I remember sweltering!

Sweet pictures! I was thinking the same thing as Rebecca-- at least it was cooler for Raquel than it was for us when we were touring the capitol.
Of course the other advantage to touring at night is you miss all the protestors!

Oh no, you don't miss the protesters at night. They camp out there so they're there all night long. From far away Raquel mistook their setup for a kiddie play yard. She took some grief from her travelling companion for that.
