The Kiss

Julia likes to give Mommy and Daddy "beijos".

More Waves

Can you see the excitement?

Lovin' the Surf

Once Julia got into the water the first time, she realized how much she liked it.

She dragged Momma into the water with her.
Once in, she was happy.
She really enjoyed having the waves wash over her.

South Padre Beach

Of course in addition to the pool, we spent time on the beach. Julia enjoyed walking on the beach and playing in the sand.

Here she is cruising along in front of the hotel we're staying at.
She's not too sure about getting into the water.
She did alright with Mom right there by her side.

Vacation

We had planned on trying to see the shuttle launch when it was scheduled for the 19th, but when it got moved, we figured we'd still go to the beach, but somewhere a little closer, so we settled on South Padre Island. Julia has been having a lot of fun playing in the "abla" (agua).

Here she's all dressed up and ready to head to the pool the first night.
Even with her floaty swimsuit, she needed some help, otherwise the weight of her head would put her mouth under the water, so Daddy helped her out.
Its a little cool because of the wind at the end of the day, and of course the AC in the hotel is cooler, so Julia got wrapped up to try to stay warm.

Sunday School Party

The first weekend in April a couple of the sunday school classes in our church got together at a house in Galveston for a crawfish boil. Of course Julia had a lot of fun.
It wasn't that bright but she wanted to test out the sunglasses anyway.

Girl in a "shasha"

We got a delivery a week or two ago and left the box out for Julia to play with. She just fits in it standing, so when she gets in it she looks a bit like a doll we just had shipped in. Whenever she starts playing with it, she starts saying "shasha" - the Portuguese word for box is "caixa". She plays in it so much, its starting to collapse from all of the wiggling. What are we going to do next for another "shasha"?
